Sixth Circuit Library

The U.S. Courts Library system for the Sixth Circuit is made up of the Cincinnati headquarters library and branch satellite libraries in Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Louisville, and Nashville. Our primary mission is to provide legal research support services to all federal courts within the geographic boundaries of the four states comprising the Sixth Circuit. The federal courts we serve are the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; the U.S. District Courts in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee; and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.

The Cincinnati Library is located in Room 540 of the Potter Stewart U.S. Courthouse at 100 E. Fifth Street. You may reach the library staff by calling (513) 564-7321. The Cincinnati Library is open to the public by appointment.

Our primary responsibility is to support the research activities and information needs of the judges, chambers staff, and judiciary personnel of all of the courts within the Sixth Circuit.
